Commenting at the NAB convention about his experiences with newly acquired Dk2000 and Dx2000 kit used on “Titanic”, Mark Ulano said, “This job would have been impossible to do without the UHF Dx2000 true diversity rack system. A 900 ft ship is an extreme environment for RF but the performance of the Dx2000 wireless system was truly remarkable”. “We also used the Hx2000, in conjunction with the MK41 Schoeps™ hyper-cardiod capsule as a wireless boom, for some of the shots with excellent results”. “In Mexico some of the scenes involved the talent wading up to chest height in huge metal tanks full of water, which meant that at times the pocket transmitters (housed in waterproof pouches) were under a foot of water and we were still receiving good signal”. “I am totally sold on the system!” |
